CGC Maldon

Who We Are

CGC Maldon is a Christian Charity working in the community of Maldon and the surrounding district.

We aim to do church in an exciting, energetic and relevant way for people of today and our main weekly meeting is at Maldon Town Hall, usually at 10am on Sundays.

We believe that there is far more to church than just Sunday services so please take a look through our website and see where you fit in.

Our full name is Christian Growth Centre Maldon, but we use CGC for short.

CGC was formed in September 2001, actually on the Sunday before 9/11, which we believe marked a turning point in much of the western world. Since that time we have sought to provide a resource to the local community and surrounding church groups utilising the diversity of skills and abilities amongst us.

Our mission:

We are a Church that engages people from all walks of life, with an appetite for something different, on a journey that discovers our true identity and potential through a personal relationship with Jesus, demonstrating a living and practical faith in our community.

Our ethos:

We are a church:

  • Of vibrant praise and worship with a prophetic voice
  • That prays for healing, restoration and spiritual wholeness
  • That speaks life, hope and freedom
  • That brings Bible Teaching to life application
  • That impacts our community through social action
  • For today, committed to developing and releasing the leaders of tomorrow
  • That does all the above with excellence and fun!

We are part of a network of new churches known as Christian Growth International
We are members of the Evangelical Alliance and subscribe to their statement of faith.

Our registered charity number is 1110592 and are incorporated as a charitable company no 5496823

Our Pastors

Pastors Trevor and Susie Harrington have been married since 1980 and have two adult children who are also actively involved in serving God.

They have ministered individually and as a couple through the local church with children, youth and adults in teaching, training, equipping, mentoring and prayer ministry.

They have a passion to see people realise their full potential in their work, relationships and ministry.

They believe that the local church is God’s plan for changing the communities in which we live and believe it should be the place where vibrant worship, experiencing the presence of God and practical teaching coupled with spiritual gifts are the primary ingredients.

Prior to moving to Maldon they were Elders at Christian Growth Centre in Chelmsford, but in September 2001 they were sent out from Chelmsford to plant a new church in Maldon with a ministry of restoration, equipping and releasing. Since then the church has seen growth from a congregation of 12 to over 100, with many others sent out to minister and work into other parts of the UK and Europe.
